FoodWorks comes with several sets of food composition data, or food composition tables, containing foods and their nutrient values. These are referred to as data sources. Data sources are not stored in your FoodWorks database and are not modifiable by you. The FoodWorks package contains a number of data sources. To check which data sources you have licensed, see Get information about your FoodWorks program. For information on other data sources, contact Xyris Software.
The foods in the data sources are referred to as reference foods. They are not FoodWorks documents and are not modifiable by you. Note that you can search the foods all the available data sources in the Query window—see Search for foods in the Query view.
You can search for reference foods in the data sources. See Search for foods in the Query view.
You can also create a data source from your FoodWorks database, allowing you to make your own data available to other FoodWorks users—see Publish your data as a FoodWorks data source.
